Our Approach

How we are reinventing rehab

Rehabilitation that goes beyond symptom management, addressing the underlying drivers of pain and dysfunction.

Root Cause Focus

We look beyond the site of pain to identify the neurological, biomechanical, and movement factors that are perpetuating your condition.

Evidence-Informed Practice

Treatment decisions are grounded in current clinical evidence and refined through 27 years of hands-on experience across a wide range of presentations.

Patient Education

Understanding your condition is part of the treatment. Informed patients recover faster, make better decisions, and are less likely to re-injure.

Session Differentiators

How our sessions are different

One-on-one care with Karim throughout your entire session, with no handoffs, no assistants, and no shortcuts.

One-on-one with Karim for the full session, not divided between multiple patients.

Assessment and treatment integrated in every visit, not separated into separate appointments.

Treatment plan adapted in real time based on your response, not a fixed protocol.

Clear home exercise guidance with rationale, so you understand what you are doing and why.

Direct communication between appointments for questions about your exercises or progress.

Continuity of care with Karim from initial assessment through to discharge.

Needling Expertise

Precision needling for complex pain

Karim holds advanced certifications in three distinct needling disciplines, each with a different mechanism and clinical application.

Gunn IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation)

A systematic approach to neuropathic pain developed by Dr. Chan Gunn. IMS targets supersensitive muscle bands caused by nerve dysfunction, releasing deep muscular tension that does not respond to conventional treatment.

Functional Dry Needling

Targets myofascial trigger points to reduce local and referred pain, restore muscle length, and improve neuromuscular function. Particularly effective for musculoskeletal pain, headaches, and movement-related dysfunction.

Medical Acupuncture (CAFCI)

A Western, evidence-informed application of acupuncture integrated with physiotherapy assessment and treatment. Used to modulate pain, reduce inflammation, and support tissue healing.

Needling techniques are used only when clinically indicated and with informed consent. Karim will explain the rationale and what to expect before any needling treatment.
